This is one of those pieces I had to take off and sandblast. The paint surprisingly put up quite a fight. Looks great now though.

The couple of shots were before of the front bib or grill ... while it doesn't add to much function I plan on re-doing it while its off. Fix up all the fastenters, swap out the headlight buckets clean up some cut edges. The bumper will just be a straight (remove upside U and towbar) Ill narrow it was well.

I told you I shouldn't be able to work on the cruiser unsupervised. The short story is Nothings easy, the two holes on the drivers side of the block that necessary for the power steering pump brackets are broken off. Fortunately and Unfortunately its going to be one big ass snowball. Might as well do this, since Im in here do this, easier to do this ..blah blah blah and will never drive again.

A before and an almost after of the rear axle. Its hammered black and the pumpkin or center chuck will be hammered silver just for fun. The two tone scheme will give it the illusion that I didn't just paint over everything.

Here are the plasma cut spacers cleaned up and painted. these came from the original backing plates as shown a few pictures ago.

Cleaned up and painted, ready to go, or hopefully stop.

Caliper brackets almost done. You can see the little extension dog leg whatever you want to call it piece. Everything will bolted on and welded in place then removed for the final clean up and weld.

The dash / windshield is complete. Even has a new never been tested "Oh Shit" handle. We had to go with white nylon finish washers as ace was out of the stainless ones, they look great for now.

Used the drum backing plates to cut out the spacers shown. These spacers are necessary to hold for the seal retaining ring / hold the whole axle in ring (whatever you call it) to fit properly.

Better picture of the gap between the bracket and the piston. This is now filled in with material.

There is quite a bit of space between the bracket and the caliper piston. Ill be filling the void as shown above. This will also allow me enough material for a bolt.

These are the alan grove brackets for the alternator and power steering. They came very nicely packages and need to be painted. I didn't have any bbq paint but these are for the cruiser and Im not to concerned, so satin black it is (what I had laying around)

if you look close you can see that the bracket sits about 1/2 inch away from the axle flange. Ill add a spacer to make up for this. The end goal is to have a bolt on caliper bracket.

caliper, caliper bracket and rotor mocked up. There is quite a bit of material that is "missing" between the piston and the bracket. Ill add in more material there which will allow me to use 2 of the axle flange bolts. I will add a bolt on (might weld it) bracket that will essentially give the bracket 3 mounting bolts to the axle flange.

These are brackets from AA manufacturing. I removed the material so the caliper will sit closer to the center line of the axle which brings more pad in contact with the rotor.
